ISSUES: Canada extends protection for Georges Banks, but continues massive oil exploration and development in Offshore Nova Scotia.

It was obvious back in 1915 that actions like offshore drilling are no longer just local in scope and concern and Nova Scotia continues its offshore oil developments in 2022. But George’s Banks has been recognized as a vital resources and has just had its protection extended again. In spite of this Nova Scotia and Canada continue with their dangerous offshore oil development. This should be of concern to everyone along Atlantica’s shores and everyone should be reacting.

In fact, these developments are along the section of the Atlantic where currents move northward and southwards so impacts can be in coastal USA and northern shores. And while we pretend to be concerned about the global impacts of the oil industry on our planet, we continued major developments in the ocean itself!!
